Wretched Wyden even sings the Israeli anthem of victimization and a right to defend itself ... from the people it slaughters. Below is an excerpt of a letter I sent to the senator ten days ago. I didn't expect (and didn't get) a response. But, he and every other member of Congress who refuses to call for a permanent cease fire must be condemned for enabling genocide.

If they -- such as Jeff Merkley (Oregon's more principled senator) -- are among the minority calling for ceasefire, thank them for joining worldwide demands that Israel stop slaughtering Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. If not, insist they stop facilitating apartheid, genocide, and ethnic cleansing
For the record, I'm an ethnic Jew whose grandfather was born in Palestine and who has more than 100 relatives living in Israel. I grew up in the U.S. south and was subjected to anti-Semitism my entire life, mostly by white people (and never by anyone Arab or Muslim), so I am very familiar with what is and isn't anti-Semitism. Zionism is anti-Semitic.

You have the blood of Palestinian babies on your hands.
Your statement that Israel "faces an existential threat" is a blatant lie presumably paid for by the (more than $1.3 million in) Israeli blood money you've accepted over the past four plus decades: blood money that hasn't even netted you $70 for each of the lives taken just in the past two months, never mind the tens of thousands of innocent civilians Israeli forces have slaughtered since you first ran for Congress in 1980.
In the past two months, Israeli occupation forces have deliberately assassinated more than 75 [now more than 90] journalists (and their families) as well as hundreds of medical professionals, UN officials, teachers, scholars, and poets while methodically destroying schools, homes, hospitals, libraries, churches, temples, and mosques. Despite proving its ability to precisely murder specific targets (doctors, journalists, scholars), Israel is mass slaughtering civilians under the pretense of eliminating Hamas (which it created). By cutting off all food and water, Israel is working to ensure that those who survive the equivalent of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings will now die of disease or starve to death.
Israel has been violating international law for decades, routinely murdering Palestinian civilians (many women and children), disenfranchising them, and denying them medical care (including Covid-19 vaccinations) while mostly European and American Jewish settlers steal property and homes owned for generations by Palestinians. IOF soldiers routinely rape Palestinian women and imprison children as young as six.
Hamas took hostages on Oct. 7 in hopes of exchanging them for some of those women and children imprisoned without trial or even charges by Israeli occupation forces. When Hamas returned hostages, they waved goodbye, spoke well of their captors (until they were silenced by threats from Israeli officials), and acknowledged that they weren't mistreated. They stated they were more afraid of IOF soldiers killing them than of any harm they would suffer at the hands of Hamas "terrorists".
Prisoners released in exchange by the Israelis spoke (and showed evidence) of torture and sexual assault. Many were taken into custody again days later. For every Israeli prisoner released, a dozen more (including many children under 10 years of age) have been taken into custody since Oct. 7.
Evidence now shows that a significant number of the deaths on Oct. 7 were Israeli soldiers and most of the rest were caused by IOF soldiers literally shooting anything that moved (including their fellow soldiers, Israeli citizens, and foreign nationals) and blowing up buildings with mortar fire. No evidence of rape by Hamas fighters has been produced (unlike the numerous well documented cased of rape and sexual assault by IOF soldiers on Palestinian women--publically condoned by the IOF rabbi--and children).
There were never any headless babies (and the bodies burned on Oct. 7 were a result of IOF mortar fire), there have been no Hamas tunnel headquarters (the tunnels that were "found" had been built by Israel). But, Israel, with U.S. funds and approval, has destroyed more than half of Gaza in "retribution", displacing more than a million people in addition to those killed and buried alive under the rubble.
Meanwhile, in the United States, anyone speaking out against Palestinian genocide is attacked and risks losing their job, their home, their life. Any criticism of Israeli apartheid is (incorrectly) labeled anti-Semitic. Yet in reality, the white Christian Zionists are in fact the most virulently anti-Semitic people in the U.S., murdering and paralyzing Palestinians (who are also Semites), vandalizing Jewish houses of worship, and attacking Jewish public officials.
If this were 1939, you would (based on statements you've made) be claiming Germany had a right to defend itself by invading Poland. Genocide, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and mass murder are egregious sins even when those committing it are descendants of the victims of apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing, and mass murder and your statements and support of Israel makes you complicit in those crimes against humanity and violations of international law.
I can provide documentation for every statement in this letter, unlike the lies told by the media, Congress, Zionists, and Israel, none of which cannot be verified if scrutinized. I would ask you to remember that you stood up against similar atrocities in 1986 and beg you to do so again rather than be remembered forever (like Genocide Joe [who accepted more than $4 million in blood money just while in Congress] will) as a traitor to the human race.
